The science that scrutinizes substance is called chemistry. The springs of modern chemistry have come from the ancient times. It used to be named alchemy - there were the efforts to turn iron into gold. The primary purpose of the today's chemists is to study the processes which are happening on the molecular level and get known more about the processes occur between different matters. It is also quite necessary to determine the laws to have the possibility to create the required matters from other ones. Chemistry cooperates very closely with biology and physics.

This science is subdivided into inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, physical chemistry and lots of other more specific fields.

Organic chemistry is named organic due to it was thought that organic combinations had a lot to do with life. But modern science has proved that not all the objects of organic chemistry are related to the life and living objects. At the same time, lots of inorganic elements are necessary to life, such as copper or iron.

The matters which include carbon and hydrogen are the main objects of researches executed by organic chemistry. That science studies their structure, properties, composition and reactions. Organic combinations are widely utilized in a variety of products, including plastics, foods, drugs, etc.

Analytical chemistry studies combinations of organic and inorganic substances. It studies geometric properties of atoms, composition and other characteristics. It also executes the studies to determine the combination and features of given components. Analytical and physical chemistry are quite similar, because they research the similar reactions but gain some different data from them. It is based on the experiments and the results are very helpful for providing the safety of the environmental and saving some natural resources.
